Western Algarve's Burgau is a small fishing village at heart, despite the continuing growth of new developments, so doesn't tend to have many events throughout the year, but here you can find out when and where the local markets are and what annual events there are to look forward to. Plus see when the Algarve bank holidays are so you don't miss out on something or on a practical note, get caught out by the shops closing.
You may also want to take a look at the neighbouring resort guides for Lagos, Vila do Bispo and Sagres to see what's happening in the surrounding areas too.
